Step-by-Step Guide to Onboard a Charge Station

If the site host doesn’t have an organisation account with us, please advise them to complete the Account Setup form before proceeding.

Chargefox's Role

We do not install or configure charge stations. Our responsibilities are: We do not assist with:

Step 1: Check Hardware Compatibility

  • Ensure the charge station hardware is listed on our Supported Hardware List.
  • If it's not listed, it must go through our Charge Station Evaluation process. This may take several months due to testing requirements for platform compatibility.
  • Contact support@chargefox.com to discuss the process.

Step 2: Order Station Stickers

Before submitting a New Charger form, you must order all required station labels. If you don’t have them, please place an order first through our Sticker and SIM Order Form.

❗ Please place orders at least 2 weeks ahead of time to avoid delays. If you have multiple installations planned, we recommend ordering additional stock in advance.

Public stations require:
  • Station ID label
  • Port labels (e.g., Port A, Port B)
  • Charging instruction label
  • Idle Fee label (if enabled)
Private stations require:
  • Station ID label
  • Port labels

Step 3: Submit New Charger Form

Complete the New Charger Form to initiate onboarding. Refer to the Help Guide for assistance.

We will use the details to create the station in our system.

We do not provide support for charge station setup or configuration. Please contact your hardware supplier or installer for setup details such as the Charge Box Identity or network settings.

Step 4: Complete Handover Form

Charger Configuration Settings

Use the following settings in the station configuration to connect the charger to our server:

  • OCPP URL: wss://ocpp.chargefox.com/ocpp/1.6
  • APN (if using a Chargefox SIM card): ipx2.m2mone

Once the station is online, complete the Handover Form to finalise the setup.

Step 5: Final Confirmation

After we complete our review and confirm everything is in order, you will receive an email notifying you that the station is live on the platform.
